Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation is in urgent need for three (3) employment consultants.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This position is to service and assist our jobseekers to find sustainable employment outcomes through developing a Compliant Job Plan and suitable referrals to job vacancies, training opportunities and relevant services that will support our job seekers to address their barriers.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Servicing and assisting our Jobseeker into sustainable employment outcomes through developing a compliant Job Plan and referral to WFD activities.
  2. Work effectively in a team environment.
  3. Adhere to the Workplace Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
  4. Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  5. Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with all BAC staff, and develop sound working relationships through delivering appropriate and honest support and/or feedback.
  6. Ensure communications are appropriate to BAC Employees, Directors, Communities, Stakeholders and partner organisations.
  7. Assisting Jobseekers into sustainable employment outcomes.
  8. Assist in the successful gaining of contractual KPI’s.
  9. Responsible for ensuring ALL BAC Job Seekers who require a Next Appointment have one.
  10. Responsible for implementation of an orderly archiving and filing procedures for ALL BAC Jobseekers.
  11. Prepare Resumes, maintain Servicing Calendars.
  12. Assist to maintain Activity Diaries.
  13. Any other duties requested by your supervisor which are within your capabilities.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

  1. Must have 2 years of experience as Community Development Program Employment Consultant in Northern Territory.
  2. Demonstrated experience working in a remote aboriginal community environment, with knowledge and understanding of aboriginal protocol and culture.
  3. Experience in CDP, RJCP or any other recent employment-based program.
  4. A demonstrated understanding of CDP reporting requirements and processes together with the ability to interact with customers and clients in a professional manner.
  5. Excellent time management skills
  6. Demonstrated good communication skills as well as proven problem-solving skills.
  7. Demonstrate high level administration skills.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as being part of a small team.
  9. National Police Clearance
  10. Must have MyGOV ID access.

Desirable:

  1. Experience working for a community development or not-for-profit organisation.
  2. Drivers Licence
  3. Ochre card

Remuneration:

Bawinanga is offering an attractive remuneration package to the right person.

  • Base salary: $30.04/hour
  • $125 weekly remote area allowance
  • Rent free accommodation
  • 2 paid return flights to Darwin
  • FIFO-4 weeks on 2×1 week off
