YeYa - Men's CDEP Centre

YE-YA is a Community Development Employment Program (CDEP) resource centre for men which undertakes a number of activities for Maningrida township and Outstations.

This year YE-YA team projects have included:
    •    Fencing of cemetery and market gardens in Maningrida and several Outstations
    •    Operating a tyre repair service
    •    Garden and public areas maintenance around the community
    •    The mud brick factory— producing over 2000 bricks a week
    •    Rubbish pit maintenance—including removal of old cars and general clean up in Outstations.

New machinery and equipment was purchased in 2011 and YE-YA teams and Outstation members are being trained in the correct and safe use of this machinery before it is re-located to various Outstation hubs.

Several members completed Cert II training courses and attendance levels have been excellent.
There have been several new staff members recruited throughout the year and all vacant positions have been filled.
Don Wilton continues in the roll as YE-YA Senior Supervisor and is supported by five other team leaders.
