We are looking for an Activity Coordinator that has generalist handyman or specific Trade skills that will provide some new and exciting leadership and direction for our CDP activities in Maningrida West Arnhem Land, Northern Territory
The Community Development Program (CDP) is an Australian Government funded programme designed in-part to develop relevant work like skills through meaningful work for the dole activities.
Experience in coordinating Work For the Dole (WFD) activities including the ability to turn raw materials into furniture, and have a desire to develop small business activities will motivate you for this role.
The ability to prioritise and develop trades like skill competencies for long term job seekers including remote aboriginal clients where English is not their first language is essential to this exciting opportunity.
You will also need to demonstrate cultural competency in a remote Aboriginal context. This requires knowledge and understanding of barriers to employment and the ability to have flexibility, patience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills that encourage participation.
Attention to detail is a given and relevant computer skills are desirable to ensure we are meeting our contractual requirements with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
