We are looking for people to join our Night Patrol Service. The Maningrida Night Patrol Service aims to assist people at risk of either causing or becoming the victims of harm in order to break the cycle of violence and crime in remote Indigenous communities. Working hours are between 7pm and 2am and this service operates 7 days/week. A knowledge of one or two of our local dialects would be desirable. A current OCHRE Card and NT Drivers License, or the ability to obtain this, is essential. The aims of our Night Patrol are:
• making families and communities safer
• resolving conflict and diffusing difficult situations
• conversing with and negotiating successful outcomes with Indigenous youth, and other community members, particularly when adversely affected by alcohol and/or other drugs
• supporting children and encouraging young people to attend school and gain an education
